I gave quickly ruined many pocket tazer by using them to make noise to scare the goats out of the feeder, they push and shove and knock the scoop out of my handknocking feed on the ground which they then won't eat the tazer makes a great scary sound and they move away so I can fill the feeder. Will this tazer handle being set off in the air just for the sound? Can you just leave out the LED's? I am not necessarily the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to electronics.

As you'll see below, the particular flyback transformer and multiplier for this power supply may be hard to find. An alternative is to go with a flyback with built in diodes as I've done here. With the 30kV output wire I could get at low as 4kV but I wanted lower. It uses a flyback transformer to step the input voltage up to around 10kV AC and then feeds this into a multiplier which brings it up to around 30kV DC.

I've looked at the output on my scope and it's fairly flat. This is about the material in red in the above schematic. I was lucky enough to get the flyback schematics along with the flybacks and on the schematics it gives the resistance across various parts of the flyback secondary. Using an ohm meter you can easily test whether the secondary of the flyback is any good. After I ruined my first flyback one of the segments of the secondary measured infinity the wire was clearly broken. So it helps to have those schematics! For the primary and feedback coils of the flyback I removed the wire that came with it and put on my own wires as detailed in the diagram above and as shown in the following photo.

After wrapping the wires into place and taping them with black electrical tape, I then coated the result with a few layers of black liquid electrical tape for durability, gluing the whole thing.

MAKE a HIGH VOLTAGE SUPPLY IN 5 MINUTES

There are basic types of Taser: Multiplier, Thyristor and spark gap. Multiplier Taser is made of one transformer having voltage of higher output and it runs on DC voltage.

This type of Taser also has high-voltage capacitors and diodes and it is for the capacitors that multiplier Taser makes loud sound. The Thyristor type is the most efficient one. Here the voltage of the capacitor is not high — V approx. The spark gap guns on the other hand is the most cheapest and ineffective stun gun. As the name implies, it has spark gap to function and the voltage of the battery is charged with transistor converter.

Of the three types of Tasers, I chose to go ahead with the Thyristor because of its effectiveness. I then used a gate thyristor for the second switch along with four neon glow lamps with the ignition voltage of 95V and the pulse repetition rate of 30 — 50 Hz. For inverter transformer, I preferred to use EE core based transformer keeping the middle column cross-section of 20 — 25 mm2. The air gap of 0. DIY Taser Gun Circuit – Stun Gun Circuit

You only need to connect the outer wires to the primary coil of the flyback transformer. You will find a comprehensive description of CFL circuits on this page. Flyback transformers come in all different shapes and sizes.

Pick a big one. The challenge with the flyback transformer is to find 3 pins out of 10 to 20 pins. One pin will be the high voltage ground the other two pins will be that of the primary coil that will connect to the CFL's electronic board. If you can get the schematic of the flyback transformer that will save you time. However you can figure out the pins by following the instructions here. This is how the finished high voltage supply looks like.

Remember, this is a DC supply. The output from the thick wire is positive. In TVs and CRTs this high voltage output drives the negative electrons from the filament to the screen. If you need AC high voltage, you have to remove the built-in diode or find an old flyback transformer that does not have a built-in diode.

The first time I build the circuit, it worked immediately. I used a 26 watt CFL. It didn't work. I was disappointed. I thought that the CFL electronics were shot.

But when I reconnected the fluorescent tube to the four wires, the CFL worked again. I realized that this type of CFL circuit needed to "sense" the filaments in order to operate.
